Lord, when I ran from You, You followed me, determined to catch me at any length. When You tracked me down, You showed me that my weakness can increase Your strength.
I asked You to forgive me for the sinful way I was living. And You promised me, that I had already been forgiven. So, now, I wear my scars proudly to tell the story of how you set me free. And I welcome the pain of my past as a reminder of how much You love me.
Together, they pay homage to your name and its power; the name above all names, before which all demons cower. Let my life be a living testament that no wound is too deep for Your healing. And in Your grace and mercy, no one is beyond Your redeeming.
You taught me not to measure myself by my failures nor by who I was when we began. You assured me the only measure that counts is the measure of who You say I am. So, Lord, will I look only forward to who I am and what You’ve called me to do. Remembering that when I look backward I reawaken the shame of my life before You!
You’ve called me not to drown in my shame and regret, but to carry Your grace into the world. I was not called to lean on my own understanding, but on the wisdom of Your holy Word.
My adoption into your family, relieved me of the weight of self-condemation. Allowing me to carry Your grace to a world under the enemy’s domination.
So, Lord, now, help me to walk as someone restored, not as someone seeking restoration. Allow me to live from Christ’s victory that I may walk free in my redemption. I will rebuild my identity in Christ, brick by brick, and truth by truth. Knowing Your love and mercy are blessings I cannot lose. For I have been chosen, beloved, and redeemed, made worthy by the blood shed for me.
Now, when the enemy says my best days are in the rear-view mirror. I can laugh, because in Your grace, I am immune from all fear. I will give the world no power; I will grant Satan no space. I will not be rushed by his lie that my life is some kind of race. I will walk at the pace of Your Spirit I will seek Your will over mine. I will not be rushed nor delayed, but I will live on Kingdom time. And I will dare to believe again; and I will laugh in the face of fear. Because the joy has been restored to my life, for I know my life with my Savior is secure.
