When I think of you in your glory, Lord,
When I consider the grace you’ve given to me,
My heart’s overwhelmed by gratitude
For the many ways that you’ve set me free.
Then, I have no choice but to worship you, Lord.
I fall to my knees and pray out loud.
I have no choice but to sing your praise
In a voice that reaches the clouds.
You stepped down to earth from your eternal throne,
And in just three days, you changed the whole world.
By suffering, dying, then rising again,
You proved the truth of your words.
For this, my Lord, I sing hallelujah,
For this, I give endless praise,
For this, I ask you to be my shepherd
As I walk toward my end of days.
Each time I get on my knees, Lord,
I see Your silhouetted cross in the sky.
I picture the agony on your holy face
And hot, salty tears stream from my eyes.
But I will never speak of you as conquered, Lord,
I speak only of your sovereignty.
I will never mourn your death on the cross
For I believe only your victory.
For this, I cry out to the entire world
“If you don’t believe me, please come and see.
Come and see the love of the Lord for yourself
Come and see what it means to be free.”
“Come and read His Holy Word for yourself
See how it taught me to live
If you open your eyes, you’ll see for yourself
The many blessings it gives.”
“They are blessings no one can explain to you;
You have to see for yourself.
Although I’m not able to do it for you,
I will do all that I can to help.”
“Until you have seen it, you cannot know
The full meaning of being free
You won’t be sorry for the journey
Open your heart, please, come and see.”
