On this long lonely night of fear
As I lay awake and pray for you,
I know you might be awake as well
And I hope that you’re praying too.
because you are so far away from me
I feel like there’s a void in my soul.
I have so much fear for your safety
Something I can never control.
Suddenly I hear a soft whisper.
It seems to be calling me.
And even though I don’t think it’s real,
I know I must answer it to see.
“You know this just can’t end well,”
I clearly hear the voice proclaim.
“And you know there is no question
About who alone bears the blame.”
“Your prayers cannot be answered,
For you know, he’s just too flawed.”
“You know this just can’t end well…
You know It can’t…But for God.”
“Keep praying and keep believing
Never doubt that God has a way.”
“Because you know He’s more powerful
Than anything the logical say.”
“You know His thoughts are much higher,
That His ways to you are unknown,
And He will never leave behind
Any soul that He has made His own.”
“You fear faith won’t be enough,
Fear he has strayed too far this time.”
“You’ve decided God must be enraged
By his new belief and strange paradigm.”
“But I’m telling you to relax and remember
That just one seed of faith harkens God.”
“He’ll chase you to wherever you stray
And love you no matter how flawed.”
“God will search until He finds your faith
Even that which you try to conceal.
He won’t give up until He’s found it,
For it’s through faith He is able to heal.”
“So I urge you, never stop praying
For what the world might call a lost cause.”
“For there’s not one on the earth who is worthy,
You are each a lost cause…but for God.”
