Your wedding is such an important event
A ritual that calls on the sacred.
With vows that speak of a lifetime
And a promise to what God’s created.
It’s a ritual that ends childhood
As it ushers in life’s next phase.
The excitement of creating a new family
And the freedom to live in new ways.
‘Til death do us part is a long time.
It will come in seasons of feast and of famine.
Some seasons will be blissful, just as you dreamed,
Others filled with trials you just can’t imagine.
There will be days when you want to give up,
When all you can see are your partner’s flaws.
Please know you can hang on hour, by hour,
By simply remembering your promise to God.
A time may come when you face a problem
For which it seems there is no solution.
But avoid the trap of being too proud to ask
For, humility promotes resolution.
You’re not meant to face all challenges alone.
It’s simply folly to believe that illusion.
So once you’ve done all that you can,
Give it to God, who created your union.
Surely, you’ve heard that God makes no mistakes;
And He takes care of those that He treasures.
It’s been His plan from the beginning of time
To bring you two together.
And God does not quit on His faithfulness.
He will complete whatever He starts.
Your job is to believe, expect, and have faith,
As He does His work in your hearts.
Never forget you are well loved.
